Be Mine!

In honor of Valentine's Day, I have a Valentine's Day project!
It's not very original, I know. It's just a V-Day card for my friend, but it is also for The (Paper) Trail Makers Challenge Blog challenge this week, Love Letters.
I guess I'll just explain really quick, for the past 3 years or so, neither myself or my friend have had a boyfriend on valentine's day, so we are always each others valentine just for fun. So we make each other cards. Since there was a challenge for me to enter, I just made sure I fulfilled the requirements.

Quick Note: These are the options I used for Love Letters
Oval shaped item (the vellum is oval shaped)
Vellum
Letters (stickers and Cricut cuts)
Edge punch (some call it a border punch!!) (I used a postal stamp punch to make the stamp edges)
Tag (the sticker that says 'i <3: ______' ... if that counts as a tag)
Electronic die cutting machine (Cricut... each use named below in the description)
Ribbon (On the front)
Stamps (the 'LOVE' stamp.. lol, jk. I didn't use any stamps)

Ok, so here is the card. There are pics of the front and the inside. And as always, I'll explain everything.

Ok. I'll start with the ribbon bow. In case you dont know how to make this kind of bow, it's simple. Take a piece of ribbon, loop it in a circle and glue the ends together. Then glue it together in the middle and pinch it together. Then get another piece of ribbon and wrap it around the middle, glue it in the back, and vwa-lah.

The 'LOVE' stamp. I used a postal stamp border/edge punch to get the stamp look. I cut the LOVE using the Home Accents Cricut catridge. I cut it in solid pink, and added the stripes with a marker. I colored in the purple with color pencil and then glued it all togeher.

The Me&You came from the Graphically Speaking Cricut Cartridge. I just chose my colors, cut it out, and glued it together.
The heart border at the bottom, which you will also find on the inside of the card is pink dotted patterned paper, and I cut using the Stamping Cricut Cartridge. The cut only has 4 hearts on it, so there are actually 2 right there, and there are 4 on the inside.

Here is the inside of the card.

The little hearts at the top came from the heart border that are hollow in the middle.
The 'Be Mine' heart is just some stickers I have. I don't remember where I got them from.
The 'i <3:______' sticker, again, is something I've had for a long time. I filled in the blank with 'our friendship'
That sticker is holding down the vellum quote because I don't have any of that special vellum glue so that the glue won't show through. The quote came from a Best Occasions Friends and Family vellum quote pack. And there is the close up so you can see, and read it if you want.

The big heart on the right side is from the Doodle Charms Cricut Cartridge using patterned paper. And the letters for 'happy valentines day' is from the Cuttin' It Up cartridge.

And that sticky note is just an inside joke between me and my friend. In high school she used to write me a bunch of sticky notes with a word for every letter of my name, so I just made one for her name. And then of course, I put a picture of the two of us.

So that's it! I hope everyone has a fantastic Valentine's Day and gets to spend it with someone special, whether its a significant other, best friend, or family member. Valentine's Day is about showing love, no matter what type of relationship it is. So don't get caught up the 'I'm-all-alone-on-valentine's-day' self-pity party and let it bog you down just because you don't have a bf/gf. My friends and I always celebrate SAD day, Single Awareness Day, and have a good time with each other! So you should do the same!
